Elevate the College of Arts and Letters

At Northern Arizona University, we’re building a future where every student can turn ambition into achievement. In the College of Arts and Letters (CAL), we prepare students for meaningful careers and engaged civic lives through creativity, critical inquiry, and cultural understanding. Your support fuels hands-on learning, public scholarship, and community engagement, advancing academic excellence and empowering students to lead with purpose.

There are many ways you can make an impact in the College of Arts and Letters, where students are at the center of everything we do. Whether you choose to support career readiness, community outreach, scholarships, or another area close to your heart, your investment helps turn today’s students into tomorrow’s educators.

The Dean's Fund for Excellence

A gift to the College of Arts and Letters Dean’s Fund for Excellencethe Dean’s discretionary account, is an investment in opportunity, innovation, and impact. This flexible fund empowers the Dean to respond quickly to emerging needs and seize unique opportunities that elevate the student experience.

From providing emergency assistance to students, to funding groundbreaking research, to launching new programs, this fund ensures that resources are available where they will make the greatest difference, right when they are needed most. Your support gives the Dean the ability to dream big, act fast, and elevate the college’s mission in transformative ways.

Elevate Access for CAL Students

Your gift to the Arts & Letters Scholarship Fund changes lives. Every student deserves access to an excellent education, but for many, cost is the greatest barrier. At NAU, 97% of students rely on financial aid. Your gift opens doors, removes obstacles, and gives students the freedom to focus on learning, growing, and achieving their dreams.

Sometimes, even a minor hurdle can become a roadblock to success. The Finish Line Fund ensures that a sudden, unexpected expense doesn’t derail a dedicated student’s progress toward graduation. Your gift provides the critical support they need to overcome obstacles, complete their degree, and step confidently into the next chapter of their lives.
