NAU has long championed access to higher education as a key pathway to transforming lives. In the fall 2023 semester, NAU took this commitment to another level with the debut of Access2Excellence (A2E), an initiative that grants free tuition to Arizona residents with family incomes below $65,000, as well as for students who are members of Arizona’s 22 recognized Native American and Indigenous tribes. A2E is important not only because it transforms students’ and their families’ lives; it also addresses Arizona’s increasing need to develop and retain a talented workforce. The program demonstrates the immense collective power of this caring Lumberjack community to bring deserving students to NAU who otherwise may not have the financial resources to attend.
Scholarships are a critical part of making A2E a reality, thanks to hundreds of alumni, staff, faculty, retirees, parents, and fans who have shown they share NAU’s commitment to creating a more equitable future.
