We offer qualitative and quantitative research opportunities that elevate marginalized perspectives—and encourage you to make a positive difference in facing the environmental, political, economic, and social challenges of a rapidly changing world.
Students tackle vital issues that matter today, including drug use, forensic strategies in crime scene investigation, and immigration. Historical perspectives on agriculture, archaeology, and human interactions with the environment and animals provide context for complex, interdisciplinary topics such as community development, and health equity.
Whether taking an environmental anthropology approach to food and water security, or seeing archaeology as a tool for social justice, our engaged faculty guide students in working with local and global communities
This Giving Day, we invite you to elevate what’s possible for our students by supporting key funds that make a lasting difference:
The Experiential Learning Fund helps us fund field trips and send students to field school programs in Anthropology and Archaeology. Field schools and Field-based class trips give students opportunities to experience work at real field sites, collaborate with real community partners, and travel to Archaeological and Ethnographic field schools around the world.
The Labs Fund supports our many student-focused research labs and gives opportunities for students to get involved with faculty and independent research to prepare them for careers in Anthropology and Archaeology.
Your generosity fuels innovation, access, and excellence at NAU. Every gift—no matter the size—helps create life-changing experiences for our students. Thank you for believing in the power of Lumberjack giving.
