Psychological Sciences

The Psychological Sciences Department helps to provide NAU students solid preparation for a variety of careers and advanced study

The department of Psychological Sciences at NAU strive to empower faculty and staff to create transformative experiences for our students. Our goals are to inspire deep connections, spark curiosity, and cultivate a thriving academic community. Through our programs our students have achieved great things such as being accepted to top Ph.D. programs and finding impactful jobs in a diverse number of industries. To reach these goals we focus on projects that support both faculty and student wellbeing and success. Your generosity can benefit two programs:

· PsychCAREER. This fund helps students offset costs associated with internships, international education programs, travel to research conferences, and other opportunities that enhance career readiness.

· PsychFOCUS (Psychological Sciences: Focus on Celebrating Undergraduate Students). This program fosters a strong sense of belonging and creates valuable opportunities for students and faculty to engage outside of the classroom. This fund makes it possible for us to sponsor activities such as hosting guest speakers, sponsoring seminars and supporting student- and faculty-focused engagement events.

This Giving Day, we invite you to elevate what’s possible for our students by supporting this key fund that makes a lasting difference:

Department of Psychology Student Development Fund

Contributions to this fund directly enhance Psychological Sciences so we can support initiatives to provide faculty and students with the tools to succeed. Funds will support initiatives such as student well-being and engagement, student and faculty professional development and general department.

For example, our program, “Psychological Sciences: Focus on Celebrating Undergraduate Students” (PsychFOCUS), provides our undergraduate students with a sense of community within our program and provide the students and faculty an opportunity to get to know each other outside of the classroom. Another example is helping us support guest speakers, seminars, and symposiums featuring renowned psychologists or researchers to expose students to cutting-edge topics and trends in the field.

The ultimate goal is to enhance the department's academic, research, and community engagement activities and leveraging opportunities for students, alumni, faculty, and our department in general.

Your generosity fuels innovation, access, and excellence at NAU. Every gift—no matter the size—helps create life-changing experiences for our students. Thank you for believing in the power of Lumberjack giving.
