PT Kids Night Out Event
2025 NAU DPT 3rd Annual Kids Night Out

Our Event

The Northern Arizona University Doctorate of Physical Therapy program is hosting their 3rd Annual Kids Night Out in fall 2025! This is an event organized by Physical Therapy students for their capstone project, as a way to help connect families of children with disabilities and special needs to the Flagstaff community.

Our goal is to provide a free event to children with disabilities and their siblings, supervised by physical therapists from the Flagstaff community and NAU Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students. Additionally, it provides the opportunity to foster a professional rapport between the DPT Students and established Physical and Occupational Therapists.

How Can You Help

We are seeking donations to help pay for:

  • The fee to rent the facilities.
  • Snacks and gift bags for our participants.
  • Event t-shirts for our participants and volunteers to commemorate the night.

Our event is hosted at Summit Gymnastics and allows the children to have a safe, engaging environment to play in, where they may have never had the opportunity to do so. The night will include the children rotating through stations that will offer trampoline and foam pit time, obstacle courses that are both age and level of function appropriate, parachute games, and sensory stations (including legos, puzzles, building blocks, etc.). Each child will have a first year DPT student and a second year DPT student accompanying them in their time. Additionally, a professional from the community will be overseeing each station. This will offer a unique experience for the children as they will expand their knowledge on how to play in a way that is level of function appropriate making the environment both equitable and enjoyable. As DPT students, this is an opportunity to get to learn and work with licensed Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists in the Flagstaff area.

Thank you!

We are extremely grateful for any and every donation to our capstone project. Your support will make this event possible!! Thank YOU!!
