We are Northern Arizona University’s true lumberjacks, reflecting the roots of traditional forestry practices through Logging Sports. Our team at NAU was founded shortly after the School of Forestry was established in 1958. However, interest faded in the 1980’s and Logging Sports was disbanded until our reestablishment in 2008.
Now comprised of roughly 30 people, our team meets several days a week to hone our skills in competitive forestry applications, learn equipment maintenance/repair, and to spend time in the great outdoors. We compete against each other using crosscut saws, racing axes, chainsaws, and other tools to test our skills and knowledge in different disciplines. We welcome all who have an interest in learning about this sport.
Help us swing our axe and support the NAU Logging Sports Team today! Your contribution ensures our participation in competitions in 2025 for intercollegiate logging sports teams. This gift significantly influences our team's development and the creation of lasting memories. It covers both travel and competition expenses, enabling our Lumberjacks to proudly represent the university and gain experiences that will stay with us forever.
Your Giving Day Donation will have an immediate impact on Logging Sports Club members, the NAU student experience, and members of the communities we serve.
