Yuma Mechanical Engineering Club (YMEC)

Who We Are
The newly founded Yuma Mechanical Engineering Club (YMEC) is a community of future mechanical engineering students who are looking to expand their knowledge and experience by becoming more involved in events and participating in student-led projects.

Our goal is to give current and future members hands-on experience in what it means to be a mechanical engineer. We also aim to attend industry events, invite guest speakers to campus, and create opportunities to apply classroom knowledge to real-life projects. We would like to ask for your support to help make our mission a reality!Yuma Mechanical Engineering Club members group photo in vestsHow You Can Help

Your contributions will help us:

  • Participate in competitions and projects: These challenging projects allow students to sharpen their skills, network with industry peers, and gain the hands-on experience essential for their future careers as engineers.
  • Get involved in The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME): ASME is the leading developer of codes, standards, and certification programs related to the art, science, and practice of mechanical engineering. This organization promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill development across all engineering disciplines and will open many doors for our club members.
  • Invite guest speakers: We plan to bring in professionals to inspire and mentor students by sharing insights from their work, development, and experiences in related fields.
  • Run workshops and skill-building sessions: Through hands-on learning opportunities, students will deepen their expertise in areas such as coding, parts design, teamwork, and project management.

Thank You!
Thank you for your support—your contributions will help us further educate and empower the future of mechanical engineering students in the Yuma community. We sincerely appreciate your help!
