The Amazing Work of Art + Design Students
NAU's School of Art + Design students embody excellence. Hear the story of a recent Art Education graduate, as shared by Director of NAU's SoA+D and Associate Professor, David Politzer:
"In 2021, Hanah Nordmeyer packed her bags and left a tiny Wisconsin town of 2,000 people for Flagstaff. Why Wisconsin to NAU? Apparently, er mother suggested that Arizona might be a nice place to vacation.
Fast forward 4 years: Hanah graduated with a degree in Art Education, and this Fall she’s jumping straight into a teaching job at Heritage Middle School in Chino Valley. There was obviously a lot in between, like teaching crochet to kids at Wee Scotty (a Flagstaff fabric store and sewing school),student teaching at Flagstaff High and Mount Elden Middle, and doing demonstrations at the Arizona Art Educators Association Conference, all while developing a broad creative skill set with future middle school art students in mind.
For her exceptional academic performance and her impressive extracurricular achievements, Hanah was recognized as the SoA+D’s Outstanding Senior."
