Answering Arizona’s Call for Care
In the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), we are dedicated to educating the next generation of compassionate clinicians and community advocates, leading impactful community service, and conducting groundbreaking research that informs health policy and academic innovation.
We know that with nearly three million people in Arizona lacking access to primary care, our charge is both urgent and deeply personal.
We are addressing this critical issue today and building solutions for the future. Through our three community clinics, we are expanding access to care for rural and underserved communities right now. At the same time, we are preparing the next generation of healthcare providers—students who will carry this mission forward throughout their careers, while our faculty are advancing innovative research to help close the gap in access across the state.
Your support helps us deliver care now, train future providers, and create lasting change.
Improve the Health of CHHS on Giving Day
Looking for a way to show your Lumberjack giving spirit? CHHS is focused on three areas this Giving Day, and a gift to the College of Health and Human Services Fund for Excellence supports these initiatives.
Student Support
More than 80% of CHHS students receive scholarships, waivers, or grants. To ensure that every student who aspires to a career in the health professions can achieve that goal, we are committed to expanding direct financial support for both undergraduate and graduate students. These students are preparing for high-need careers that will help address Arizona’s healthcare workforce shortage, including occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology.
Community Impact
CHHS operates three on-site clinics open to the public, expanding access to care while providing hands-on training for our students. Last year, the Dental Hygiene Clinic, Physical Therapy Clinic, and Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic served more than 2,000 patients, delivering essential, low-cost preventive care and therapy to the community.
Your support makes this possible. Gifts help us sustain these vital services, while also expanding waivers and scholarships so more patients can receive therapy or care at no cost.
Academic Innovation
Through immersive, interprofessional training, technology-driven learning, innovative clinical experiences, and a dynamic curriculum, we are preparing future health and healthcare leaders to serve our state. This work is grounded in meaningful community engagement, from expanding rural clinical rotations to integrating real-world experiences with local nonprofit organizations and hospitals into our curriculum. Preparing best-in-class providers and leaders is at the core of everything we do.
Thank You for Elevating CHHS!
Our next generation of healthcare professionals are endlessly grateful for your generosity to CHHS. Together, we can ensure our clinics, students, and programs have what they need to meet the healthcare needs of Arizona.
