oSTEM at Northern Arizona University is the official collegiate chapter of the national organization Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, the largest professional society in the U.S. dedicated to celebrating ALL individuals in STEM.
We are students navigating labs, lectures, research, internships, and identity. We create a space where all students in STEM can show up fully as themselves without fear of judgment. Through weekly meetings, mentorship, professional development workshops, and honest conversations, we build confidence, resilience, and real connections.

Sending Our Members to the National Stage
Each year, oSTEM hosts a national conference that brings together collegiate and professional chapters from across the country. It’s a powerful space for learning, networking, research presentations, and conversations that are both technical and deeply personal.
In fall of 2026, we hope to send up to eight NAU students to the 16th Annual oSTEM Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Your support helps cover:
- Conference registration fees
- Travel and lodging expenses
- Access to the Career & Graduate School Expo
- Networking events with STEM professionals and graduate programs
For many students, financial barriers can make opportunities like this feel out of reach. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help ensure cost is not the reason someone misses out on this life-changing experience.
