Dr. Rominger was a Professor of Botany at NAU from 1963 to 1990. He was the 1977 NAU Homecoming Dedicatee and an immensely popular botany professor and noted agrostologist. Their dedication to the welfare and success of their students left an indelible impact on all who knew both James and his wife, Redonda. Dr. Rominger passed away in 2015, and his wife Redonda passed on Christmas Day 2023 at the age of 91.
Your support of this scholarship helps their legacy live on.
When you give to the Biology Department Fund at Northern Arizona University, you invest in discovery, innovation, and the science of life itself. Your support expands opportunities for undergraduate research, equips students and faculty with essential field and laboratory resources, and sustains the day-to-day excellence of the Biological Sciences department. Through your generosity, students gain meaningful, hands-on learning experiences—from studying ecosystems and biodiversity to advancing solutions in health and environmental sustainability—preparing them to become the next generation of scientists, researchers, and problem-solvers.
