The goal?  Bring our community together to celebrate the Lumberjack spirit by sharing, following or financially supporting programs that have made an impact on the lives of Lumberjacks everywhere.

If you'd like to become an official Social Ambassador, just click on the social ambassador button on our main page.

What are Social Ambassadors?

Giving Day relies on Social Ambassadors to share the NAU message of philanthropy through social media channels like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram. If you'd like to become an official Social Ambassador, just sign up through the social ambassador section of our main page.

After you sign up, you can send emails or post on social media with unique links to our website to help spread the word about causes you care about at NAU. We encourage our Social Ambassadors to change their social media profile and cover photos and share the message of giving with their friends and colleagues in the days leading up to Giving Day. Your promotion of challenges and causes you care about, is crucial to the success of NAU Giving Day.

What are Challenge Gifts?

Challenge Gifts, created by donors for their favorite programs, create an incentive for others to give by increasing the amount of money raised based on donor participation.

When a challenge reaches a specified number of donors on Giving Day, the challenge donor's gift is activated. As an example, when 50 alumni make a donation,  a $2,500 challenge gift will be activated. After a challenge is activated, the challenge box will disappear.

Every donor, no matter the size of the gift, counts - and combined these gifts will add up to help support NAU in unbelievable ways.

Why does Northern Arizona University need donations?

State funding, tuition, and fees do not cover the total cost to provide a university education each year.

Generosity from donors supports every facet of the student experience at Northern Arizona University. Your support opens the doors for students to attend the university through scholarships that can minimize loan debt.

Your generosity helps NAU attract and retain outstanding professors who cultivate student potential and provide a myriad of programs and research opportunities that allow Northern Arizona University to offer an exceptional education. Donors like you help the university increase in quality and prestige.

Where do my donations go?

Your contributions to the Northern Arizona University Foundation are designated according to your wishes and directly benefit the area(s) at NAU that you select. You can choose to designate your gift to more than one area. Simply note your preference on the gift form and how much you want to give to each area.

It’s your gift—your choice.

Can I designate my gift to more than one area?

Of course! Simply click "Add another gift to your donation" and make a new designation for each part of your gift.

Is my gift tax deductible?

Once we receive your gift, you will receive a receipt verifying that your gift has been deposited into the account you have specified.

For further guidance on tax matters, please consult your tax adviser.

Can I make an anonymous gift?
